Little Learners – Preschool Story Time!
Back by popular demand, join us for some songs, stories and silliness on Tuesday mornings at 10:15. No registration required for this free program. Suitable for ages 18 months to 5 years.
After School Boredom Busters – Tuesdays at 3:30 pm
Stop by and see what’s happening after school. November includes all kinds of financial fun like making a savings bank to store your loot, a round of ‘What’s In the Bank’ (bingo dauber game) and a duct tape wallet. In December we’ll be doing all kinds of holiday fun including making a gift to give to someone special, a wreath for your door and some secret acts of Christmas kindness.
Winter Break Fun – As always, when school’s out, the library is a great place to hang out and have fun. Check out the calendar and stop in for some fun!
Financial Literacy Month – Come check out our display of financial materials that will have you padding your bank account in now time! Have you got some great tips and hacks to share? Put your best ones on our board and learn some new ones.
Adult Book Club – New members are always welcome for on the last Tuesday of the month as the group discusses their most current selection. Copies of the book club book are available at the circulation desk.
Cookbook Club – Want to try something new on your Saturday morning? Bring your favourite cook book (we have LOTS in our collection, too!) along with a sample of a yummy recipe to share. Please bring a copy of the recipe for the dish you are bringing (for allergies and for interest). Registration is appreciated, but not required. Ages 16+
Food for Fines – December 1 – 8 – Clear some of your overdue fines and help support local food banks at the same time! The Library is accepting donations of non-perishable food items for local food banks. For every item donated, $2.00 will be cleared from your library fines (up to a maximum of $10.00). Those without fines are welcome to donate as well.
Coming Soon: Bookmobile Fundraising Event – Bruce County Public Library is planning a future bookmobile service, but first we need your help! Watch for details coming soon for our first Bookmobile fundraiser happening this fall!
November is Financial Literacy Month – The library is a great resource for financial information. Explore our collection and displays this month to enhance your financial literacy. Share your tips for “How do you save money?” on our display board. Understanding Dementia: Building a Supportive Community – Nov 7 at 2 pm – In this presentation from the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce, attendees will learn how we can build stronger and more inclusive communities where everyone can contribute and live healthy active lives.
All programs are FREE unless otherwise noted. Donations to your library are gratefully accepted. Children under 9 years old must be accompanied by an adult while in the library. Children under the age of 5 attending programs may be supervised by the library staff only during the scheduled time of the program; their caregivers must always remain in the library building. Responsibility for the welfare and the behaviour of children using the library ultimately rests with the parent/guardian or an assigned caregiver. Thank you for your understanding.
