Pajama Bedtime Stories – Every Tuesday: 6:45 pm
Join us for this fun preschool program where we will help you build early literacy skills with your child by reading, talking, singing and playing together. Wear your snazziest pajamas and bring your stuffed animal. Adults must stay for the program. Suitable for ages 2 – 7.
Summer Reading Club – June 23 to Aug 18 – TD Summer Reading Club is Canada’s biggest, bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages, all interests, and all abilities. This free program is offered at 2,000 public libraries across Canada, including Bruce County. Visit your local library branch to receive your Summer Reading Club package. Summer Reading Club Kick-Off – June 23: Stop in and register today in the branch and enjoy some treats!
Beanstack Summer Reading Program – Beanstack is a new way for children to participate in Summer Reading Club and keep track of how much reading happens over the summer. Track your reading, enter titles, write a review and more to earn virtual badges along the way. Complete all the tasks to earn a custom Summer Reading Club button from your branch.
Beanstack for Teens – The Library has a super-fun way to keep track of your reading this summer! Read, complete challenges designed specifically for teens and more. Download the mobile app (Beanstack Tracker) to scan your books into your virtual reading shelf, time your reading sessions or create your own reading challenges. Or, register through the Library website to access the same program.
National Indigenous Peoples Day – June 21 – There are many wonderfully written works penned by First Nations authors and illustrators at the Library. Take the opportunity to peruse the library’s collection and check out a title from First Nations Reads longlist https://www.sols.org/index.php/fn-communities-read/2018-19-combined-categories.
June is Ontario Senior’s Month – Not only does the library have material on a variety of topics for seniors, a large collection of audio and Large Print books, we also have specific resources on the 55+@ The Library website: http://library.brucecounty.on.ca/seniors/

CELA presentation – Monday, June 25 – Gateway Haven, Wiarton, 10am Elgin Lodge, Port Elgin, 2pm You can still enjoy reading! Find out how by attending a free presentation from CELA (Centre for Equitable Library Access). CELA helps provide public library services to Canadians with print disabilities. Registration with CELA is free with your library card.

Mayor Buckle drop in – Stop by and chat with Bob Buckle, Mayor of South Bruce on Friday mornings from 10 ‘til noon.
All programs are FREE unless otherwise noted. Donations to your library are gratefully accepted. Children under 9 years old must be accompanied by an adult while in the library. Children under the age of 5 attending programs may be supervised by the library staff only during the scheduled time of the program; their caregivers must always remain in the library building.
