Story time – 1st, 2nd & 3rd Tuesday of the month: 6:45 pm
Join us for this fun preschool program where we will help you build early literacy skills with your child by reading, talking, singing and playing together. Wear your snazziest pajamas and bring your stuffed animal. Adults must stay for the program. Suitable for ages 18 months – 7.

STEAM On! – Last Tuesday of the month – 6:15 – 7:15 pm – pre-registration required Science! Technology! Engineering! Art! Math! The Library is the place to participate in STEAM activities

Canada Reads at BCPL– January – March – Register to participate in our online reading program in celebration of Canada Reads. Read a past or present finalist, log time spent reading Canadian books and write a review to participate. The more reading you log, the more chances you have to win one of several autographed books or an “I Read Canadian” T-shirt! Register for the program using the Beanstack link on our website (under “Resources”) or ask for assistance at your local branch.

Blind Date with a Book – February 1-14 – Take your chances on a literary “blind date”! Check out materials from our displays and enter a draw for a chocolate treat! We’d love to hear how your date went: share your comments about your “blind date” book on your ballot. You never know, you may fall in love with a new author or genre!

Freedom to Read Week – Feb 24-March 2 – This annual event encourages Canadians to think about and reaffirm their commitment to intellectual freedom, which is guaranteed them under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. BC Mini Comic Con Art Contest – Bruce County is holding its first ever Mini Comic Con at Walkerton Branch Library on March 9. We are collecting fan art from teens across the County to showcase before and at the event. The winner will be chosen at the event and will receive a prize. Entries may be submitted until February 22. Please contact your local branch for a submission form and for more details.
